SNMP error: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB

    Hi,

I'm new to Zabbix. I managed to set up most things we needed, but I'm stuck with monitoring our firewall.

It's a Sophos XGS. I imported the most recent template (which sadly is very old) and uploaded the necessary MIB files to the Zabbix server. I got monitoring the firewall partially. Zabbix discovers the interfaces, but gets only some of the data. Things like status, link speed and so on work fine, but I cannot get bits sent and received, which would be the most important info.

The OID the item queries is correct. I confirmed it with snmpwalk, and in the GUI of Zabbix, when I click Test, I get the counter this item is expecting. So manually it works fine, but when I leave it to the scheduler, there is no data, the item in the host is marked as "Not supported", and when I drill down, there is a red i next to it, and the bubble has the error message "SNMP error: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB".

I'm just lost as to why the item works fine manually, but fails when Zabbix tries to use it on its own.

The template wants a batch of generic MIB files. These rely on the firmware version of the firewall. I also have one that is specific to the firewall - it is generated by the firewall, based on its running config - but I cannot figure out how to tell the template which MIB file to use - if that's a thing at all.

Thanks to my limited knowledge, I'm out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Zoltan
