host shows unknown, even though the 3 ping items work

Why does host show unknown? because of this i dont think im receiving alerts when the host goes down (referencing discord alerts that i have setup).

Normally its supposed to show green which it does show for my hosts which i have used to monitor using snmp.

All my hosts that i have configured to monitor using simple ping checks show unknown like below-



If you look at the Availability column it shows the gray ZBX which is normally supposed to be green.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Do i need to make more changes to make it work?

ICMP checks do not light up the availability like Agent and SNMP does.
What does your host show for latest data?

The ZBX status refers to the presence or not of the Zabbix Agent
The SNMP status refers to the response of the Host to SNMP queries
ICMP ping shows none of this, here is an example from my server of:
1- a host using both the agent and SNMP
2- a host using ICMP ping template only


Both hosts work fine, but you will get a grey status on the ZBX if you are only using ICMP
