    SNMP Traps

Please see post #2 for resolution

    Hi All,

Long time no post. I am pulling my hair out a bit right now with SNMP Traps.

So far I have my /var/log/snmptt/snmptt.log file working with all traps ZBXTRAP

    Mon Aug 21 16:13:41 2017 .1.3.6.1.4.1.25053.2.10.1.20 Critical "Ruckus DFS Event" ~IPADDRESS~ - ZBXTRAP ~IPADDRESS~ catchruckus

These logs are filling the file however my Zabbix server will not create any historic data for these hosts. I have redacted the IP address but that just reads like a normal public IP which matches that of the host which I have applied the template/items to.

I have created dozens of types of snmptrap items with different keys however none work. I have attached a screenshot of the one I believe should be working.

Can anyone see what in the world I am doing wrong?

I've also tried setting "zabbix trappers" and changing from logs to text.

    Problem Resolved

Embarrassingly the solution as usual was simple, from the documentation:

For each trap Zabbix finds all “SNMP trapper” items with host interfaces matching the received trap address. Note that only the selected “IP” or “DNS” in host interface is used during the matching.

That note was the problem, I was referencing the host by IP in the /var/log/snmptt/snmptt.log file and by DNS in the host config.

      Hi there,

I'm trying to configure SNMP traps for my Zabbix. Could you advice where can I find clear manual how to do this? Zabbix KB is quite confusing me..

I tried to follow steps from here: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...types/snmptrap
