Hi Team,

I am new to zabbix and i have recently installed zabbix with mariadb but from here i am very confused of adding the server and sending mails and the view is very different compared to other tools.

I just want to know how can i achieve the below points
->i have installed zabbix agent in one of the machine but in the UI i am not understanding how to configure the thresholds for the windows machine and and how to send the mails .And when i am selecting the template in windows or linux it is showing Unable To Add Templates to Hosts.could you please guide on this as well

->1st when i clicked on graphs tab and i kept a cpu utilization but after that i am unable to change it to any other attribute and the page is getting struck

->how to keep a dynamic subject line for a particular server and add few particular applications and ports under that server and whenever a alert is sent the subjectline will be same and and inside the content should be changed

->Can we monitor the servers through snmp rather monitoring through agent

->How to test a sample mail rather waiting for a threshold violated

Apart from this please help me with sharing a book or any usefull links where i can learn zabbix.

So as far as I've understood I can answer:

1. Check connectivity between zabbix-agent and zabbx-server. Use manual
2. Check apache2 for logs
3. Where subjectline? Clarify this please.
4. You can monitor through snmp, but agent is more flexible and less consuming for zabbix-server.
5. Create sample Zabbix Trapper item and send value with zabbix_sender, then - crrate a trigger and see if the message was sent to you.

By the way, if any problem appears - check the logs. tail -f /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log or zabbix_agentd.log pr zabbix_proxy.log
