Agentless monitoring http and https services

    Hi All,

I am new to Zabbix. I want to monitor http and https services on remote host without zabbix agent. Can anyone help me to achieve this.

    Appreciate your help in advance.

    Hi!

I'm interested in the same too.

I need to monitor a webservice, with using the built-in Web URL Monitoring (in Web scenarios), but that host doesn't have an Agent. It's an agentless server.

Currently I added a fake host, and applied Agent IP to localhost 127.0.0.1, and the host doesn't have any template linked. It only has a Web scenario configured. But I'm not sure if this is the correct way.

How agentless host should be configured?

    Thanks!

Eidit the host with following details:
      1.) Remove Agent Interface
2.) Add SNMP Interface with monitored server IP / name
3.) Link template app http service and template app https service

        Hi guys,

You can use built-in Web Scenario. The Web Scenario is currently performed by the Zabbix Server and is curl-based check.

You can create custom script and run it from agent to do whatever you want.

You can perform and SSH to your host and perform some command to get the proper result.

You can create a Simple check to proble the specific port using tcp connection
        Code:
        net.tcp.service[service,<ip>,<port>]
And please consider to use manual -> https://zabbix.com/documentation/3.0/

        Regards,
        Alex!

          Hi Guys,

Default template template app http service and template app https service are also checking net.tcp.service[http] and net.tcp.service[https] services.

            Hi!

            Thanks for answer.
But that Agentless host doesn't have SNMP agent either.
Even if that host is added with SNMP interface (default 161 port), Zabbix doesn't seem to complain. The ZBX LED is grey, just like as was when Agent was specified with localhost.

So in fact I still don't have a clue how to add an Agentless host officially.

            It works with :
            - Agent configured on 127.0.0.1
            - or with SNMP configured on exact IP.
            But neither feels proper.

Add it as a host monitored by Agent. Your ZBX icon will lit with Green only in case you have Passive checks by Zabbix Agent on it and they are working.

              Regards,
              Alex!

                Hi Alex,

OK, so you are saying that web monitoring can be added to an other host (i.e. not the same agentless host) which is otherwise monitored by an Agent.

                Yeah, it can work too.
                Thanks!
