Best way to upgrade from 6.4 to 8.0 LTS

    Hello,

I have a Zabbix Server in production, is the version 6.4. I know that is not a LTS version, but this project started as a test and has gradually established.

Now I want to upgrade to the 8.0 LTS when it is released. I'm thinking about setting up a new server (and install the latest Ubuntu LTS version as well), install Zabbix 8.0 LTS and then migrate the data from the old Zabbix. I don't want to migrate the alert history, only the data from hosts, templates, etc...

¿Is possible to migrate only this information? ¿This is a good way to migrate from 6.4 to 8.0 LTS or someone has a better option for this purpose?

    Thanks and regards

There are plenty of topics in this forum about upgrades and server changes. I doubt there will be anything different in this 6.4 to 8.0 upgrade.
You can install 8.0 server and (this is important) 6.4 DB from your old instance and then point your 8.0 to that copy of DB and during first startup it shoudl do all upgrade tasks...
