items dependencies

I don't understand how to make dependencies between items.
Typically on a monitoring host, i proceed with :

2 items monitoring by the server :
-> icmpping to validate the ip stack
-> agent.ping to be sure that zabbix agent is well running

many items to monitor filesystems, memory, and so on.

the moment, when a server is down, the triggers associated with the first two items raised ON.

What shall i do to get only the trigger of the fist one ON ?

You shall use trigger dependencies.

ok Alex, that's what i think to have already done..but does work.

If, to test, i bring down a server, i got two triggers that raised ON [ icmpping & agent.ping ] despite my trigger dependency showned in the image.

So what's wrong ??
