    Migration help

Hi, actualy I have a zabbix-server 2.4 monitoring about 800 hosts on my network and i need to change the phisical machine it is in.

So, for the new machine, I want to run zabbix-server 3.4 and migrate all the hosts and the data from the zabbix 2.4 server.

How's the best way to do that considering i need to free the old phisical machine?

    Thanks!

    Hi rafaelpaduan,
Are you running Zabbix server on Virtual environment or this installed directly on the physical machine ?

Actually the most important thing is to dump the database. You can use mysqldump or any other backuping solution like Percona Xtrabackup (https://www.percona.com/software/mys...ona-xtrabackup. After you'll dump the backup - install the Zabbix on the new machine and put the dump into the database. Make sure you have configured the user and privileges on that database.
Configure the server and launch it - you will see how the database will be updated and everything should work fine.

    More about upgrading: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...grade_packages

    Regards,
    Aleksejs!
