    Bandwidth Counter

    Dear Users,
I'm considering using Zabbix to monitor a couple of ADSL modems. I dont have access to the DSLAM and would need to let users access data on their traffic statistics and would also like to take the same data and use it for accounting.

My question is does Zabbix incorporate a traffic counter that would report on monthly usage. eg 250MB downloaded in the Dec 2006 or something similar ?

    Thanks
    Ken

I don't know of any way to have it give you a count of how much total passed though for a paticular period. Zabbix seems to be more geared toward what is going on at that point in time. You could possible write a script to tally the data for a specified period and report that back to Zabbix. I am thinking of a script that would look at the counters for the data and add them up and then at the end of the month reset the count.

      Thanks for the reply sbadger.

      Looks like i'm stuck here.
What i have in mind is a pppoe client logging on to the internet after being authenticated by a freeradius box.
I want to take the freeradius stats plus the bandwith stats and then create a page where the users can connect and check their usage and decide if to upgrade/downgrade their subscription.

Since Zabbix stores the data, is it possible to grab it and graph it ?
is it also possible to have it accessible to customers in the way i'm thinking?
