    MAP Features

    Hi All,

Need to know if i can create a MAP like in the Attachment,

This MAP will refresh automatically and provide us the latest network status,

The Goal is to manage my network which is mostly L2 in nature

    Regards

    Hello coolcliff,

You can use Maps in Zabbix. You need to add hosts and provide linkage between them. You can connect those links with the corresponding Triggers to find out if it errors or not.

    Regards,
    Alex!

Based on information provided on the screenshot, i see no problems to reproduce this map in zabbix

Hosts can display problems based on triggers
Links between hosts can display link speed/status/etc, and change their colour depending on problem severity

you can found more information here

as far as i know, at this moment all map elements must be draw by hand, which will take some time first, also any topology changes which will happen in the future must be added manually

But once this job is done, this map will nicely display the actual information on your network

      Best regards,
      Kaspars

        Link Indicators not working

        Hi

I have created a network map of 3 switches in my lab environment as in the attachment, i have also created the link indicators.

i need the link to change its color to red when i unplug the Ethernet cable to simulate a link failure, somehow the link does not change the color, it just stays green. everything else is great. can someone guide me how to achieve this.

could it be because there is no alarm triggered when i unplug the port. the port however show up in the trigger list for the host as below

        Severity|Name|Expression|status
        Average|Network Interfaces Discovery: Interface Port2(): Link down||{$IFCONTROL:"Port2"}=1 and({192.168.5.2:net.if.status[ifOperStatus.2].last()}=2 and {192.168.5.2:net.if.status[ifOperStatus.2].diff()}=1) Enabled

so should'nt an alarm be generated when the port is unplugged?

        Regards
