High Availability: Server Disconnected

Hello everyone.


I have an environment where ZABBIX inside of VMware. but if VMware shuts down, zabbix shuts down together.

How can zabbix identify if the rest of the assets has been shut down, if it has also been shut down?

How can i find the zabbix uptime, when zabbix is down ? And both zabbix and the operational system running zabbix server down as well ?

You are using Zabbix in HA mode or you want to use Zabbix in HA mode ? Please note that there is no out-of-the-box solution in Zabbix for HA, alternatively it can be done by using third party solutions.

If you don't want to build Zabbix in HA mode, but just want to get notified when Zabbix is Down then, as was presented in Zabbix 2017 Conference by one of the speakers, use small instance of Zabbix outside of the main environment just for monitoring Zabbix environment. In such case you can be notified if there is a problem with your server.
