I'm pretty new to Zabbix and i'm currently in the planning phase of a deployment. Regarding a specific request I've already talked to a friend who's a long time Zabbix user and also recommend me the software. But we both didn't found a good solution to this problem. Well I have the following situation:
In our company we have multiple teams with different responsibilities. These Responsibilities already separate on a Server system. While the infrastructure team is responsible for the OS and the server itself, the application management team is responsible for the application that is running on it.
My "wish" was now, that I somehow can separate the rights within Zabbix. So that a infrastructure user only sees (Over the webinterface) problem that he's responsible for. The only way to set rights is based on host groups. But this isn't possible here, as both teams can be responsible for a host but not for each Item/Check.
The ideas that I had where the following:
Simply add the server system two times, while I separate the Item/Checks based on the team responsibility.
This idea would almost fulfill my request, I only see a problem at checks where both teams has a responsibility for. Also it greatly increase the management of the whole Environment.
Working with a customized Dashboard
Well this was most promising idea that I had. My idea was, that I could filter the events based on e.g. tags like it's possible at the notification. But as I looked closer into this, I became aware that only one of these widgets support these non host group based filters.
So is there maybe a other way too reach my goal? Do you have an idea for this? Thanks for your ideas in advance!
