    Change OID Switch HP A5120-48G-PoE

I am using a template to monitor an HP SWitch, but I can not get the serial number of the equipment and it throws me an error that is not supported. I would like to help me with this problem

    Hi rikardoperu!

Open that template -> discovery -> item prototypes.
Find that item and change "SNMP OID" for those items.

P.s. if you are monitoring ohter switches and it works fine, just make a copy of that template, name it differently and modify to work with your switch.
Then unlink the default template and link modified.

Those items are not from discovery, they are template level items
if you are using default template from zabbix installation, they are

      Code:
      Firmware version system.hw.firmware 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.3.0
      Hardware serial number system.hw.serialnumber 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.36.1.1.2.9.0
      They come from NETSWITCH-MIB http://www.oidview.com/mibs/11/NETSWITCH-MIB.html
      and HP-httpManageable-MIB http://www.oidview.com/mibs/11/HP-ht...eable-MIB.html

your example is from ENTITY-MIB http://www.oidview.com/mibs/0/ENTITY-MIB.html

So yes, change them to corresponding oids, and they will work. Or better, clone the default template to a new template and adjust this new template

      Regards,
      Kaspars

add .2 to the end of your SNMP OID

snmpwalk lists a all sub items of the OID key
to read the value in this case - serial, you have to use that final oid which shows your desired value.
