    Need help in reporting, how to fetch the utilization data?

    Hi,

    Need help in reporting, how to fetch the utilization data?

    Please share me links or info to see and fetch the capacity utilization date from Zabbix 3.2. I can see some utilization graphs but it id not clear, instead of graphs and lines it give dots and says no data for most of the servers.

    Please help me set this up.

    Hi Sathiya!

    Could you please clarify what data you seek for?
    Is it about zabbix server or you are trying to monitor other systems and not getting any data.

    First what comes in mind - check Monitoring -> Latest data section.

    Check if you have enabled hosts in Configuration -> hosts section.
    Also does your hosts have any items?

      Thanks for the response.
      I am trying to fetch the data of all hosts configured in zabbix server but couldnt find all under Monitoring -> Latest data section.

      And all the hosts are enabled in Configuration -> hosts section.

      Yes we have 2 items by default:
      system.cpu.util[] & vm.vmemory.size[total] for all the servers.


      Ideally we have configured all the hosts in zabbix servers and see in dashboard but couldn't see the utilization graphs for all, so it will be helpful if I get steps to do if I am missing something at present

        Hello !

        It seems you have some performance issues with zabbix. Dots will apperar in graphs in case there is missing data readings and full line can not be drawn

        First look at zabbix graph named Zabbix Server -> zabix data gathering processes busy

        All pollers must be below ~50%, if some poller is around 100%, that mean zabbix cannot gather new data because no free pollers are free to collect them.

        The other graphs to look is Zabix Server -> Zabbix internal process busy % and Zabbix cache usage free, maybe some process is too busy or some cache is full

        You can attach those graphs here if you want.

            Hi,

            Ok, i see here some small problems with unreachable pollers and discoverers, both are 100% busy. I suggest start with increasing coresponding values in zabbix_server.conf file in parameters StartPollersUnreachable and StartDiscoverers. Zabbix server restart is needed after configuration change to read new values

            Also it will be great to look at your zabbix_server.log and mysql.log, usually there is a lot of information regarding errors if something is not working as expected

            If yo can share in public such information, it may help a lot to solve any misconfiguration. If not, you can just look for error messages in those log files

              Thanks Karpars,

              Have increased the corresponding values in zabbix_server.conf file in parameters StartPollersUnreachable and StartDiscoverers to 100 from 1.
              Is it ok? or do you want me to give any specific values and restart?

              Also please find some zabbix_server.log below, we are using postgres DB.

                Changing from 1 to 100 may be overkill.. i suggest to start with 10, if not enough increase by step of 10

                But at this moment - does it help ?

                XXX cannot send list of active checks to "10.x.x.x": host [XXX.XXX. COM] not found
                it means that some host with IP 10.x.x.x is contacting your Zabbix server, sending his Hostname, and zabbix server can not find this hostname in configuration->hosts


                if the Hostname= is defined in zabbix_agentd.conf, agent sends this value
                if the Hostname is not defined, but HostnameItem= is defined, agent sends this items value
                if both are not defined, zabbix_agent sends hostname from OS

                The value must match exactly (case sensitive) with host name defined in web frontend.

                  Hi Kaspars,
                  ok, I will increase it by 10 and check.
                  After changing it to 100, I couldn't check since the DB didn't come up. I have to wait until I get the admin access hence I will update the result tomorrow morning. (but I will go with 10)

                  And I will check and update the host details in configuration list as you suggested.

                    Zabbix busy unreachable poller processes in % has been reduced since the value was changed to 10. Please find the screenshot attached.

                      OK, now return to your main problem

                      If yes, are there any errors in zabbix_server log ?

                        I can see some graphs now but the confusion is whether it happen due to the changes in values or the key which was changed my my colleague.

                        But we cant see the graphs for all the templates, guess very few shows some values and still empty for most of the templates.

                        And there is no option for download as well.

                          At this moment i'm confused, you have problems with graphs not displaying some items , or some hosts are not receiving all values ?

                          Can you see the values in Monitoring -> latest data on hosts ?

                          we noticed the host names wasn't given completely while configuring in zabbix server and that might be the reason.
                          Because of that, you will not receive any data from items which are marked Zabbix agent(active) on that host... you need to fix them

                            Yes, can see some items already there (i.e. cpu, total memory) but those were not populating graphs earlier, now we can get some graphs but still can see just dots for few servers. (Please find the graphs attached)

                            I mean the chosen items not displaying the data for few servers, guess it might be due the issue you mentioned earlier.

                            there are many items available but we are looking for some specific data i.e. cpu utilisation and memory utilisation against total allocation.
                            Is it possible to customize the items as our requirement?

                            Note: any possibilities to download the data/graph we see on the screen?
