    Constant trigger warnings (not right)

    Hi guys,

I've installed this great package, and like it a lot. But now I am unfortunately fighting against one small ''problem''. I've got some Host groups, connected to some member templates because of the items, triggers etc.

Everything is working fine, actually... but one thing: I've got that trigger to Template App Zabbix Agent: Zabbix agent on {HOST.NAME} is unreachable for 5 minutes.
I've allready increased it to 5 minutes (but a ping would be nice every minute), but still the warnings are coming every few minutes... and the servers are available without any problems:

The expression of the trigger is:
    {C_Citrix template:agent.ping.nodata(5m)}=1

This trigger is configured in the Citrix Template, which contains the Citrix servers (logical )

Could someone help me with finetuning that triggers? Or maybe tell me why the warnings are still coming.
Zabbix agent service is available, servers are available, Zabbix poorts (10050-10051) are open in firewall as well IN- and OUT.

But still warnings that the Zabbix agent is unreachable for 5 minutes. Reason that I want to monitor this agent, is to check whether server is available or not.

If any has a suggestion to monitor the uptime.. or fix this problem. I would be thankful

Have you specified correct Server= in your zabbix_agentd config file on remote hosts ?
it must match Zabbix Server IP address or DNS name

you can check every zabbix_agent communication issues with a simple command from your zabbix server
    Code:
    zabbix_get -s IP_ADRESS_OF_AGENT -k agent.ping

      hi Kaspars,

      Thnx for the quick reply.
I've checked one server which gave the messages, and yes, the correct IP is insert in the zabbix_agentd.conf file in Program files of the server:

      Server=192.168.12.174

Besides that I will try your command (I'm not a Linux hero, so going to give it a shot to enter the correct modes )

Unfortunately "The program zabbix_get can be found in the following packages"

        zabbix-proxy-mysql
        zabbix-proxy-pgsql
        zabbix-proxy-sqlite3
        zabbix-server-mysql
        zabbix-server-pgsql

        Don't think I've got it... because I thought I wouldn't need this.

Just install the zabbix-server-mysql on the Zabbix linux server?

        Because the clients look allright.

Besides that the Zabbix Availability lights up green on every server in the Host configuration.

The agents are From server 2008R2 to 2016, and the Zabbix 3.4 server is Ubuntu 64 bit. Is that enough information for you?

No didn't try it, but great Now it works. As an answer I get a "1"
So the server which gave "down" is actually up.
Ok that's one thing, I can ping now

                Second thing:
I'm searching for a solution for these warnings... I saw :

                Escalation examples

                Example 1

Sending a repeated notification once every 30 minutes (5 times in total) to a 'MySQL Administrators' group. To configure:

in Operations tab, set the Default operation step duration to '30m' (30 minutes)
Set the escalation steps to be From '1' To '5'
Select the 'MySQL Administrators' group as recipients of the message

But i am not able to find the ''operations tab''... not in the triggers ,not in the hosts etc.
Maybe there is somewhere the failure of these invalid warnings?

edit: second part of my question found: configurations / actions / Acknowledgement operations

But here's no solution i guess..

Yeah, thanks, I've found it already.

But this stays weird. They're all available but the e-mail warnings stay.

                    Besides that :

NOTE: Escalation cancelled: trigger "Zabbix agent on vl-sqllive is unreachable for 5 minutes" disabled.

This is stupid... It's my own choice to disable this
But cannot find this e-mail trigger warning?

All your hosts are up, but you're still receiving email warnings ?

you can look at reports -> action log, there will be names of all actions fired.

If i have misunderstood you, can you explain a little more in detail your exact problem at this moment ?

                      Regards,

                        Hi Kaspars,

I dont think you have misunderstood me.
I've disabled the email warning right now, because the warnings keep coming.
But it's impossible because all hosts are up and running:

this first warning OK... but i dont need the warning that an escalation is cancelled.

Maybe there are still some unsent alerts ?

that can be seen on the Mysql DB side, executing simple SQL script

                          Code:
                          use zabbix; select count(*) from alerts where status=0;

Take a look here, there was an old bug in previous zabbix versions, not sure if its affecting you, but you can try to clean your escalation table from any stuck escalations

                              Sigh...
Sounds logical to me... but installed this zabbix ubuntu server with a linux expert who's gone.

I cannot even connect now to the mysql database, so i cannot try this trick with stucked warnings
