VM monitoring
So far my i am happy with zabbix but i cannot figure out this part:https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../vm_monitoring
Configuration > did this in the zabbix_server.conf, no biggie.
Discovery> I know these fall under templates but where do i place this? There is no mention of this just that you "should make this". Where what..?
Host prototypes> The picture under it shows discovery rules of templates? So what exactly are host prototypes? Where do i make them and how?
Or does the second picture refer to a regulair host with dummy values?
Ready-to-use templates
The mentioned templates that are "ready-to use" don't exist in my appliance 3.4? They are there without the "virt" part. But do these ready-to use templates change the process of configuring this? Again it is just mentioned it is there but not why what how...
The page is somewhat vague and incomplete in my interpretation. Hope you guys can help me. I think if I figure this out i should be able to roll it out company wide! yaaay!
I am looking forward to work more preventative instead of chasing the active problems.
