Hello! I'm new to zabbix, but I'm quite experienced as a software user (and also as a developer). It took me several days to figure out why zabbix was not working. (The details are here: https://serverfault.com/questions/88...1142358_885603 )
Here are some quesitons:
#1. Why are the default templates for passive mode? If we have default templates for passive mode, why don't we have the same for active mode?
#2. Why is the agent type is stored as a property of the item (and the discovery rule and the low level discovery)? I see this as a design flaw in zabbix. Will this be changed in the upcoming 4.0 version? Or is there a tennable explanation for this?
