I have a newly setup environment. I had about 13 systems out of our ~100 or so servers monitored by Zabbix. On each of those 13 I added the Zabbix agent and created a host for each one and it's been working properly.
Now we'd like to monitor our VMWare environment. We were hoping that Zabbix would auto detect the VM's and we can put the Agent on each system to have it monitor both the VM from the hypervisor level and the VM from an OS level. With the agent on each VM it would also allow us to gather additional information.
Now I've followed a tutorial to add our VCenter into Zabbix. It works and has added all the ESX Hosts and the VM's to it. However it appears that we have 2 seperate entries for VM's. One that was discovered and one that I added manually. The manually entered one has the Agent.
Is there a way to combine those? What's generally recommended to be the best way to monitor these VM's?
