Also the SNMP piece of the VMware dicovery rule was throwing an error. I removed the SNMP piece of discovery.
I have restarted the server. I will post back if it crashes, or tomorrow if it doesn't.
Just came across this - If you are not on 3.4.7, try an upgrade.

    The release notes here: https://www.zabbix.com/rn/rn3.4.7

show this bug fix:ZBX-13441 fixed crashes in case of failures (e.g. timeouts) during VMware hypervisor discovery

Crashed again last night. This looks very promising.

            No good

Still not running. I will take a look at the logs and post back.

              No luck

Same problem. Log says out of memory - please increase VMwareCacheSize configuration parameter

When I look at the cache graphs they are all nearly empty.

Maybe I did something wrong in the initial setup. I did the discovery through Vcenter. I may just delete the hosts, and not include VCenter in the initial discovery.

Frustrated. I am very new to zabbix, but it sure seems like the log should point me to the issue. I just don't see it.
