Feeling pretty stupid right now, but I can't get Zabbix to install on Ubuntu using sources. The installation tutorial is incomplete or missing information.
I installed zabbix with MySQL support, front-end, etc as the tutorial instructs. I then get to the step for creating the database but I have no clue what the mysql password is. There needs to be some more information in this section of the tutorial.
I figured OK fine I'll try PostgreSQL - I removed the files I had installed and installed the postgreSQL instances instead. Everything went smoothly until I got to step E starting services - httpd is not found yet I can see apache server is running in the IP. Figure OK fluke tried to continue on to Step #3 configure frontend -- put in my ipaddress/zabbix and I'm getting 404 error not found. If I remove /zabbix I'm getting the default ubuntu apache welcome screen, but /zabbix isn't found and I don't see anything in the instructions for it.
