    zabbix comparison to monit munin monitorix nagios etc

    hello,

    i hv read some articles that desribe some diferences between zabbix and nagios.
    i was wondering if someone could comment on;

    1. differences between zabbix , monit, munin? is zabbix superior? how?

    2. can zabbix restart services like monit?

    Yes, ZABBIX can execute arbitrary scripts (including service restarts, whatever) depending on state of monitored environment.

      Thanx alexei. Its nice to get a reply from the MAN HIMSELF. i could not locate a howto in this forum for this purpose. could you point me to an artice or howto? i am particularly interested when apache hangs and needs to be restarted. or even mysql for that matter or ssh. thanx again

        I'm sure this was discussed many times in the forums. Also you may look at PDF version of the manual for up-to-date information, search for "remote actions".
