Email SMTP Server

I have Zabbix installed on a Linux server. And for some odd reason I cant get mail to go out. Questions: In the email/media configuration should the
the SMTP server and the SMTP helo server be localhost? And should the SMTP email address be zabbix@localhost ?

I can send mail from the server, what could be wrong?

you need to send the mail to an smtp server.

smtp server should be the fqdn of an smtp server in your domain.

smtp helo should be the fqdn of your zabbix box


smtp email should be an existing email address in your domain. (yours?)

Under Monitoring, Actions, Do you see any actions by zabbix? Might be able to see the errors under action if any.

No there is no action under monitoring->Actions.
I have defined many actions on trigger in Configuration and all the triggers are TRUE but no actions are done and none appear in Monitoring->Ations
I don't know why in fact.

I want some help please.

I believe that a trigger would have to change to true after the action is setup for a notification to be set.

Also can you post your action configurations and Zabbix Version?

Alexei has posted a patch for this problem: "actions.patch" recently.
Search the forum or google for this patch I don't remember where exactly.
In any case it solved my problem.
Now I have my actions appearing under Actions->Monitoring

Try add media types for users and select triggers on host (not templates) - It has helped me

This way is a little to heavy for > 100 Server and 20 Trigger per Computer.
Hope i find a better way to send EMails by Zabbix-Server.
