Monitoring windows services

Dear All,

I need to know if we can monitor status of any windows service with status as running or not running.

I am using Zabbix 1.1.6 and zabbix agent on windows servers

You could post the solution you found

We can monitor status of any windows service by using
"service_state[service name]"

It returns following constants.

0 – running
1 – paused
2 - start pending
3 - pause pending
4 - continue pending
5 - stop pending
6 – stopped
7 - unknown
255 – no such

NOTE:service name must be same as in services.msc.

We can write like in KEY field

service_state[servicename]

servicename must be same as windows service name

Ex:service_state[IIS Admin]
Here IIS Admin is the service name.

Thank, i got the item correctly previously but keep on getting unsupported, today then i found out i type in the service name wrongly. LOL.

On Win2k pc, keep returning value of 1 although service is already started and running, even when i disabled and stopped the service, it is also 1.
