    network load graph

    Hi everybody!

First of all, I am using Zabbix and I am very happy with it.

    I just have one question.
we have some servers (different UNIX and Linux) connected to a special network. Naturally, all NICs connected are different, sometimes rl0, eth0, hme0, hme1 and so on. I would like to monitor the used bandwidth on that network only, in other words, I would like to compute the sum of all servers specific NICs. I think that using the function grpsum doesn't work because of the different NICs name. Is there any solution to build such a graph?

This functionality is not natively supported by ZABBIX. However you may use combination of UserParameter with zabbix_get, or some other technique to retrieve the sum and pass it to ZABBIX server.

I tried to play with zabbix_get on each zabbix client. But I have trouble with it : either the answer is an empty string or I recieve a "zabbix_get: No match.". That error seems to happen each time the key has parameter (which is the case with net.if.in[eth0]).

I also tried to write a script on the server (no problem with zabbix_get) to gather NICs' informations but there still remains a problem. How can a have a store value type "delta (speed per second)"?
