Reliance upon Zabbix agent to run simple checks?

Hi,

Do simple checks rely on Zabbix agent being accessible first? I have some hosts whose Zabbix agents aren't currently accessible and it appears that the simple checks for those hosts (http_perf for example) aren't being checked.

Do the simple checks rely on Zabbix agent to work?

Simple checks are execute by ZABBIX server itself. They do not rely on ZABBIX agents.
