Distributed monitoring

Hi,

I have read the documentation for 1.4 and have not completly understod how to
set up distributed minitoring.

I like to have a central configuration zabbix server and distributed nodes behind fire walls.

What is the firewall configuration to make this work?

Do the nodes connect to central zabbix server and pull down configurations and push up events and collected data?

I am also interested in getting more info, than just:

Add NodeID to ZABBIX Server configuration file. NodeID must be an unique Node ID.

My questions:

• Are notifications possible from other than the master node
• Are triggers evaluated on slave nodes ?
