Strange Output from e.g. pop_perf

Sometimes i have a value of 5.01 for e.g. pop_perf ( actually for all of the simple perf-checks). Does it have some special meaning? like a timeout? and are the results given back in ms or in sec, because i can really belive that nearly all of our servers are responding <0.1 ms or in exactly 5.01 ms.

when i get 5.01/5 for perf values equals timeout.

and is the result ms or sec? because when it's ms it would be very strange to set 5.01 ms to timeout.
