Cannot get any action to work

    Hello,

I'm new with Zabbix, but I've already spent a lot of time installing, configuring and testing.
Until now, I allways found a solution for every problem I had. BUT, I still cannot get any action to work.
I tried many different conditions, but none of them worked. At this time, the e-mail settings are probably wrong, but the first step is to get an action raised in Monitoring -> Actions.

My last test was to create an action with only one condition:
    Trigger value = "ON"

Despite the fact I had 2 triggers switched to TRUE (Processor load is too high for 2 hosts), no action were raised.

I'm using version 1.1.4 of Zabbix on Debian Etch.

Thank you for your help, maybe a step-by-step example would be fine :-)

    Regards,
    Regis

    Hi,
I have quite the same issue. No action is raised.
I'm running same 1.1.4 on Debian Etch as 'mightor'.
I've tried to redo all the action config but still no action is produced.

        Hi!

Can somebody tell me what am I doing wrong here? I've killed a process to make a trigger true:

There are events recorded, too ...

But ... the actions part, this one is empty:

Why? The image above is from "Monitoring" part of Zabbix. In configuration part, the story is different:

The action is defined, here's how:

But ... of course, there was no mail sent ...no action is followed by the trigger. What am I missing here?

I have exactly the same problem. There is no actions in Monitoring->Actions.

A solution should quickly be found for us please.

Oh - another thing - my installation of Zabbix is 1.4 on Debian Etch, but I don't expect this to be relevant, because being 1.4 a stable release (and my problem somewhat basic) it has to be me that I'm doing something wrong

Well ... that's odd. Events work fine now - after zabbix_server restart. Actually I wanted to delete old logs and after deleting start zabbix_server. After that, the notification works fine.

              Nice

Anyone here running Zabbix 1.1.4 and having actions that work?
If yes, can you please give an example of configuration ?

                Thanks

Simle actions must work. However if you use complex conditions, pelase, check this thread.

The patch you provided through this link is for 1.4 only.
                    I use 1.1.4.

Nevertheless, actions have suddenly worked 2 days ago (even e-mail was correctly sent through our Exchange server and I received it on by BlackBerry !), but I still don't know why. And I can't get them to work again.
All I can say is that actions that worked were defined with "no repeat" option.

                    Still trying...

Ok, here are thee results of my intensive tests:
I can only get (very) simple actions to work.

Example: "Processor load is too high on hostname"

                      But:
                      - "Processor load is too high on template" does not work.
                      - "Processor is too high on hostname" (and) "Trigger value = ON" also does not work.

That is: if I only want to be warned when trigger is ON, I just can't. So, at this time, actions are useless.

                        actions 1.4.1

I am having the same problem with actions, I am only using zabbix to pull snmp info and I can't get any action to work.

Is 1.4.1 going to provide a patch or fix for this?

I am about to try the patch that was recommended:

                          patch worked

                          woohoo

The patch the Alexei suggested that I linked to in my above post worked like a charm

OK, this time it works well.
Finally, all I had to do is not to use templates as hostnames.
Now, even triggers with two or more conditions are working like a charm.
Next step is to configure users, users groups and host groups to send e-mail alerts to respective UNIX and Windows administrators.
