Zabbix Newbie.
I have Zabbix 1.0 running on Linux Ubuntu (Debian) 2.6.8.1-3-386.
Using the pre-installed Host.Unix template I am monitoring another server. This seems to work very well, right out of the box, thanks!
I would like to set up a new host and monitor a very small (5 or so) set of the pre-configured items. I am confused as to the best way to go about this.
Intuitively I would guess that I should create a new template, and add only those items I want, however I see no way to do this?
It does seem that I could use the Host.Unix template and remove all but the items I want, of course this seems unnecessarily time-consuming.
Alternatively, it looks like I could add the items one by one, to my host like this:
Items -> "click host name" -> "select type: zabbix agent" -> then hand type in the key from the items I know to exist??
Is this the correct way?
Thanks, just looking for a a little guidance.
