What is the IT Services Page Even For?

What are you even supposed to be able to do with this page, I don't understand the purpose of it...

I managed to find the answer to my own question:

    IT Services

ZABBIX's unique technology allows you to relate your applications and underlying servers or network to a IT Service such as application, location, server, network device, region, etc. This technology allows you to correlate your business to your IT infrastructure and identify the impact of your IT infrastructure to the delivery of business service to your customers.

I'm still not sure what to do with this feature, though...

Think of this as the beginnings of Service Level Agreements, scorecards, or management reporting.

In my environment, we provide services to a number of customers. I use IT Services to determine overall availability scores by customer where the score depends on the availability of many interrelated items being monitored.

So, for instance, I can say that Service A is available as long as at least one of Services B, C and D are available. Service E, on the other hand, is available only if all of Services F, G ahd H are available. In addition, I can say that an overall availability depends on having Service A and Service E both available.

Basically, this is a page for managers. As IT Director, if I say to my CEO that server foo's CPU load reached 5.4 for the last hour, his eyes will glaze over. If I tell him that the E-mail service was unavailable for two hours last week, he'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

This feature's goal is to do this translation where you map device items to their corresponding "business" IT services (e-mail, Internet access, file server, ERP system, etc.). Many organizations give their IT departments performance (for instance availability) targets that they must report on. The IT Services page allows you to get this information automatically.

Thanks for the description on how you guys use this feature, I really appreciate it. I've only been out of college for 6 months and haven't been in a position where that kind of reporting has been requested, so I didn't quite grasp the concept, but I get it now.
