    How to stop Zabbix Server?

    Greetings,

I am new to Linux and Zabbix but am doing ok so far.

I have managed to install Zabbix 1.4.1 from source under Ubuntu 7.04 and it seems to work ok. The only thing is that I didn't include the --with-libcurl option so my web monitoring is not working.

So, I want to re-configure/compile the source with the libcurl option but am not sure of the proper way of stopping the running Zabbix server. This is what is mentioned in the manual under upgrading.

Is there a clean way of stopping Zabbix server or is killing the processes sufficient?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Regards,
    Justin.

Just thought I'd post for anybody else who has the same question.

The instructions I was following didn't include the step of copying the script file to init.d

Depending on your distribution, there is a script file located under misc/init.d/<distribution> that needs to be copied to the appropriate place (eg. /etc/init.d under Ubuntu).
This then allows the standard command syntax of /etc/init.d/zabbix-server stop to be used.

    Regards,
    Justin.

Killing of ZABBIX server with a TERM signal (default for commands 'kill' and 'killall') is OK. ZABBIX will be gracefully stopped.
