    HTTPS web monitoring

    Hi All,

    I'm setting up some web probes with zabbix and have run into a little problem with HTTPS.

    With HTTP, everything is working fine, and I get nice graphs and results with the web probes. However, from the same server, HTTPS does not seem to work.

    Curl is installed on the machine, together with the OpenSSL libs. I can do a curl from the command line and retrieve the HTTPS page correctly.

    In the zabbix web monitoring page, the HTTPS probe just "hangs" on step 1 and nothing happens from then on. No errors, nothing happens.

    I've done some network sniffing from the host where the probes are running , and there is no network activity at all on the HTTPS host i'm trying to probe.

    Anyone have an idea what is wrong here? As I said, HTTP probes are working fine from zabbix.

    Does it happen with all HTTPS servers?

          Pardon my ignorance, but where are you getting access to Zabbix 1.5?

              I still don't have this working. I have installed the latest version, and still no luck.

              So far, I have had this issue on our Solaris production servers, and on an external FreeBSD box. Still no HTTPS support.

              Anyone?

                Hi Ajunne,

                I finaly got it working by reinstalling openssl.
                Maybe it was not installed properly the first time??
                As U are working on Solaris you realy must check if all Library's are installed.
                Check:
                ldd `which openssl`
                libcrypto.so.0.9.7 => /usr/sfw/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7
                libssl.so.0.9.7 => /usr/sfw/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7
                libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1
                libsocket.so.1 => /lib/libsocket.so.1
                libc.so.1 => /lib/libc.so.1
                libmp.so.2 => /lib/libmp.so.2
                libmd.so.1 => /lib/libmd.so.1
                libscf.so.1 => /lib/libscf.so.1
                libdoor.so.1 => /lib/libdoor.so.1
                libuutil.so.1 => /lib/libuutil.so.1
                libgen.so.1 => /lib/libgen.so.1
                libcrypto_extra.so.0.9.7 => /usr/sfw/lib/libcrypto_extra.so.0.9.7
                libssl_extra.so.0.9.7 => /usr/sfw/lib/libssl_extra.so.0.9.7
                libm.so.2 => /lib/libm.so.2

                All Libraries must exist and be "reachable"/found!

                Hope this helps!

                  Hi there

                  I have just recently installed zabbix 1.6.5, it is all working perfect, but having some trouble setting up ssl on it. I have tried to set openssl up on apache2, but am stuck.

                  Zabbix does support HTTPS , right?

                  Is there anyone that can help me do this procedure

                  Cheers
