I am trying to setup email notifications and I was hoping someone would have some advise on how to setup email. I do not currently have a mailserver in my domain. I followed this guide http://souptonuts.sourceforge.net/postfix_tutorial.html
to setup postfix to relay messages through gmail. I used telnet to send test messages and everything seems to go through on my end but nothing shows up in my inbox on gmail. How are others authenticating to an smtp server? Did you just setup an open smtp server? How have others setup their email? How can you setup smtp authentication in the media type email? I realize this is not a Zabbix problem but an email problem. I notice some people on the forums with the same type of problem and others that have got it working. I am still not confident that I have my postfix server setup right. I am going to do some more reading and testing. I am relatively new to Linux and really new to postfix, but so far zabbix is awesome and really straight forward.
