    Strange big values

    Hello,

Duno if this has been already seen somewhere else but i d like to know if there is a way to avoid this problem :

Sometimes duno when exactely (thouhg i suppose it is when a server is crashing or if the agent is being stopped violently or something like that) we get on graph very high values, for example you can monitor a ntework link and have an average bandwidth used of 20 ti 50 Mb/s and suddenly you get a vry high value of several Gb/s.

The graph then becomes unusable as this big value way over the real capacity of the link just show a big peak and then the real graph (very low bandwidth compared to the peak) is then now almost invisible ...

Any idea how to avoid the server to not store very high values (out of range) recieved from agent ?

    Thank you.

I dont know how to repoduce that as it is random, but i can join 2 screenshots to explain what we get.

So far there was no restart at all nor crash during that period nor overload or anything.

Also these graphs are cumlatives ones, the problem is not due to the graph but really to the value measured on the host and stored by the server (happend on several different host at different time).

These host and server are using a sles 10 linux distribution. Do you need specific information that could help you ?

      Mysql extract example :

      mysql> select * from history where itemid=18966 and clock>1184461880 and clock<1184461920;
      +--------+------------+-------------------+
      | itemid | clock | value |
      +--------+------------+-------------------+
      | 18966 | 1184461882 | 165517.0000 |
      | 18966 | 1184461886 | 679064.7500 |
      | 18966 | 1184461894 | 760129.6250 |
      | 18966 | 1184461896 | 120535556362.5000 |
      | 18966 | 1184461906 | 650045.2000 |
      | 18966 | 1184461911 | 198780.4000 |
      | 18966 | 1184461916 | 299928.8000 |

What is your version of ZABBIX? What is value type of the item? Is it configured to store values "as is" or not?
