    How create a new check

    Hello,

I would like to create a new check, ie : if the listener of an Oracle database is running.

I've followed the pdf support but I can't understand how I can do that!

Is there someone who can tell me the steps to follow please?

    Thanks!

What platform? Windows or Linux? I am not an oracle person, but for mysql and ms-sql I have found tons of information by searching the forums. I found this:

Someone contributed this package to monitor oracle in zabbix. Personally, I use the windows performance counters to monitor the majority of the data and processes on the host machine.

      Hope this helps!

        Thanks Dave!

Sorry, I forget to tell that was on Linux (in general RedHat).

Your link looks like interesting, I try to do that and I feed back to you.

In fact, I would like to create my own checks and, in final, would be able to add buttons (to switch on/off processes by myself and not by zabbix).

I've already done with Nagios, but I would like to try Zabbix and make my choice between Nagios and Zabbix before to put in production.
