Server won't start and no log file is created

After 'fixing' the issue with importing SQL files I did:

[SIZE=2]
zabbix_server -n 0
zabbix_server
ps aux | grep zabbix[/SIZE]

This gives the following output:

[SIZE=2]root     25547  0.0  0.0  4576  624 pts/0    S+   10:14   0:00 grep zabbix[/SIZE]

Since no logfile is created, I have no idea where to look for errors.
Perhaps I am doing something fundamentally wrong(sometimes installation 'just works' and others all kinds of weird issues), but I don't know where to start looking.
