    error in trigger/email notification

    Hello,

I have created a template and a host_group for my windows workstations. In this template I monitor the c: used space and I have a trigger that alert me when used space is above 90%.
It works very well and the trigger is working for all my computers in the Host_group and the template.

I'd like to receive an alert from zabbix when my trigger is in alert. I would like to be able to create a rule that applies to all the computers of my Windows_group, instead of creating a rule for each computer.

I tried to do this email notification rules:

    1st try not working

    Host_group = Windows_group
Trigger = the trigger for c: of my Windows_template
    Trigger value = "TRUE"

    2nd try not working
    Host = Windows_Template
Trigger = the trigger for c: of my Windows_template
    Trigger value = "TRUE"

I can insure you that the trigger is working well.

Please can you help me to do this rule.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Oups

    PS: I'm using Zabbix 1.4.2

    Update:

In other words can I create an action for a group, If YES must I have all the triggers of the computers of that group in error?

Actions created for a template have absolutely no effect.

Alexei... thank you for the answer.
So.. how can be done to create an action for all the hosts beloging to a template? Do I have to create every action by hand?
      Thank you very much....

Currently you may create a single action for a group of hosts. Support of actions by template will be implemented anyway.

mmm. sorry, maybe I do not understand well...
At the moment, I created a trigger for my template_netapps, with this expression:
          {Template_netapps:icmpping.max(15)}=0
I also have a host group named "access_points"; how could I change my expression to work with all APs?
          Thank you so much!

Just replace Host_group = Windows_group by Host group = access_points. The action will work for all hosts from the group.

I am so sorry, Alexei.. but the alerting is driving me crazy. Please, help me with this real case:
I have a win2003 web server, called web40. First, I created a template called "Template Web". Then I linked the Template_web to the template "Template_windows" (the one already present in Zabbix, in order to add custom items to the ones already defined).
Afeter that, I created host "web40" linking it to "template_web". I add an item "IIS" ("service_state[World Wide Web Publishing Service]"), so now my host has all the windows item, plus the one I need.
At this point, I want to create a trigger for alerting me whenever IIS service goes down. So I created a trigger with this expression:
              {Template_web:service_state[World Wide Web Publishing Service].last(0)}#0

Now.. how should I create the action?
I am soo sorry, but I am not able to solve this problem...
              Thank you so much

                SOLVED (with a walkaround)

I'm pleased to announce that I solved the problem..
Well, to be honest I confirm that Zabbix does not behave as I expected... Anyhow, I try to explain what I did, in order to help others..
My problem was to create an action whose condition should be a trigger created for a template: I create a template, then i create some items of that template, and finally a trigger related to an item. This works perfectly, because every time I link a host to that template, the host inherit all the items and all the trigger.
The problem rises when I want to create an action with the same concept: create an action whose condition is a trigger picked up from the templates.... This does not work: if in the pop up condition windows I choose a template and then a trigger of that template, the action does not work (as explained by Alexei). If I choose a host group, I have another menu with all the host belonging to that group. It is not possible to choose a trigger for all the host, only for one of them. So, the action works only for that host.

I solved with a different approach: instead of using "trigger = " condition, I tried "trigger description like ", and I put the trigger name in. In this way, everything works as expected!
Sorry, I thought it could be usefull to explain this a bit better, because in my opinion it is not easy to understand at all!

Thank you guys for the marvellous work...
