    Disk failure

    Hi there!

I have recently joined a company that has Zabbix (v1.1) setup and configured. I am trying to learn how to use it!

Is there any way that I can pick up if hard disks are failing on our servers at all?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Chris

There is usally some way to get this info from SNMP, either through the manufacturer's management software (Dell OpenManage, HP Insight etc) or from the controller card vendors software.

There are templates for the 1.4 branch in the wiki for both HP Insight and Dell Open Manage that will alert you to all types of hardware issues including disk status.

excellent thanks for that. Another reason added to the pile on my bosses desk to upgrade to 1.4
