    Templates and modified triggers

    All,

I think that the windows template is lacking a bit.

Have many of you modified the template at all? Have you added in your own triggers?

I need to monitor a specific service on all the windows servers, I cannot see how to add this trigger based on the template. How may I do this? I would think that this would be very straightforward - maybe I am not looking in the right place (for info).

Anyone care to share their templates here if they have tweaked them a bit.

    Thanks

    windows services

    Hi,
If you look at the Windows Template you will see where it keeps track of the dhcp client.

    service_state[Dhcp] is the key

all you have to do is replace Dhcp with your service name. You can get that name by going to the services mmc and bring up the properties of the service you want to monitor it's up/down status. In the General tab you should see a field called Service name. The value that follows that you put in the brackets above. For example, if I wanted to monitor the "workstation" service then my key would be

    service_state[lanmanworkstation]

    Does this help?
