Alerting Intervals

Hello,


I have a quick question. I have a trigger that monitors if a host is down (reachable or not) and that host is not reachable for several hours, let's say 8 hours.
How many times zabbix will try to alert me with an email,jabber,etc message?
Will i get hundreds of alerts or just one which I'll have to ACK from the zabbix frontend?

You will get a single alert only. Escalation module of ZABBIX 1.6 (next stable release) will take care of more flexible notification schemas in the future.
