Offloading zabbix processes to a second sever

In the documentation for 1.4 I found the following:
However, I can not find any further reference how this could be achieved.
Does anybody know how I could place the pollers on a different server?
My guess is need to copy the zabbix binaries and need to setup a conf file with the same node number. Am I correct?
Any hints would greatly be appreciated!
