    Best way to monitor OpenVZ

Hi all, new user just getting into zabbix, so far it looks great. Looking forward to getting DM working

Did a quick search and this was the only thread on openvz I could find...

We run a number of network services (samba/httpd/DNS/antivirus etc) for our LAN in separate OpenVZ virtual machines and I'm wondering if anyone here can give me their opinion of the best way to monitor the VPS's?

Would you recommend placing individual zabbix agents in each VPS or just one on the hardware node?

I understand that the virtualisation scheme of openvz is like freebsd jails so the root user in the hardware node can view all the running processes within all the virtual machines, so I guess it would be possible to monitor the /proc/user_beancounters from the hardware node?

I'm concerned with tracking disk/mem/etc usage within each of the VPS' (there are different limits on the resources for each VPS), and I;d like to see the virtual machines as separate hosts, so my inclination is to place zabbix agents within each VPS.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Working...
