    Zabbix queues stuck...

    Hi all.

I have a problem where my Zabbix queue is full of items that are not disappearing. The graphs have stopped recording and the collection of host items is erratic.

This happened for no reason and I have tried everything including stopping and starting Zabbix (sucker and agent), stopping and starting mysql and stopping and starting the server itself. I noticed that the items in the queue that weren't disappearing were set to run again time a few hours in the past so I tried putting the clock back on the server to make them run, which cleared out the queue. However, as soon as the clock went forward again they all came back.

Some items do seem to disappear but most stay and the top 20-30 are all pings. I have read some other posts to this forum but found they generally referred to 'fping', which I have installed and with 777 access rights. My fping is owned by root.

I am completely at a loss as to what I should do.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Update!

I realised that the Zabbix agent wasn't running after my first attempts to fix the full queue. After running it all of the items in the queue disappeared except the Pings. Why will they not go?

FPing works ok and is in the PATH.

    Help me please people.

    Thanks,

    Dan

      FPing was the problem...

      Hi all

Finally solved my problem after a lot of thinking! Re-installed fping package and all the pings started being processed. The queue went down to normal levels and all is well now.

Fping was pinging okay when I manually typed it in to the command prompt but obviously something wasn't right with it.

      Hope this helps someone.
