1.4.2 question regarding NOT IN

I was reading through the forum posts and read the announcement Alexei made regarding the release of 1.4.2: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7325

What specifically caught my eye was this:
"added support of NOT IN operator for time periods"

Where can I get more information on the function 'NOT IN' ? I do not see it in the PDF manual and would like to know if it works with Logs specifically. Can we get more documentation on this please?

The NOT IN operator can be used for action conditions only. It is not a new trigger function!
