zabbix server on debian

Ok,
Ignore my previous posting. I now have zabbix compiled and working. Now I can't get zabbix to start on my system. I don't see anything when I do a ps -ef. Any ideas?

how do you know its working when you cant start it? what command are you using to start it? zabbix_server? under what user? Anything in the logs?
