Hostname and active agents

Hi chaps.

Im having problems getting an active agent item to work and I think it might be my hostname on the zabbix agent machine not matching the server.

Can someone confirm exactly what the hostname in the zabbix_conf file should match ? Should it match the NAME value of the host in Zabbix server or the DNS name given to a host?

It should match name of the host, which is unique host atrtribute.

Should that be the machine name of the host (ie, we call our servers PURPLE, YELLOW, BLUE etc, so would it be BLUE?) or should it be the FQDN, ie BLUE.G2SUPPORT.COM ??

Ie hostname or FQDN ?

I mean "Host name" in ZABBIX host definition form. It can be any unique string! It has nothing to do with FQDN.
