Setup Distributed Monitoring (DM)

Hi,

thanks a lot for the installation guide to set up Distributed Monitoring !

In one of the last steps it says: go to http://zabbix2.
However, I don't like having an Apache, PHP, etc. installed on every distributed server.
AFAIR it is mentioned in the documentation that you can decide whether
you want a GUI frontend on a server or not.
So, I'd rather vote for not.

I guess the setup can be done by executing the same SQL statements the GUI would do for the configuration of the (slave) node.

Is this the only choice and are there any scripts for this purpose you want to share ?

Hi,

I know how to start the ZABBIX (slave) server with the Node-ID.
But somehow it has to know what and where the master is, right ?

You only use the node ID (zabbix-server -n 2) for the initial configuration.
You need a web interface on the node to configure it further.
