Windows Event Log

Hi All

I could really do with getting this one sorted... When I try to monitor the eventlogs in Windows with eventlog[Applications], I get Zabbix not supported, when using Agent 1.4.1 and upwards. 1.4 runs, but occasionally crashes. When it dies I have to clear the monitored log and it can be restarted.

Did the eventlog monitoring change in >= 1.4.1? If so, what is the new way of doing it?

Hi,

I have on some W2K3 machines this function running, without problems.
On a W2K machine I have some problmes, I have switched the eventlog monitoring off. But still after some days the agent stops delivering information,
but the service is still active. Even with debug, I could not find a hint yet.

i had problems with agents < 1.4.1. With 1.4.2 eventlog monitoring worked without problems so far.

I have also 1.4.2 in use.

On W2K3 it is working fine, and I found out that not the
Eventlog Monitoring is causing the problem on the W2K machine

What key do you use in the management server for the active check?

I have an active check of eventlog[Applications] configured, but no joy. I'm guessing there is a way to do this that actually works...!

The type dropdown needs to be "ZABBIX agent (active)"
