Zabbix become slow after upgrade to 1.4.2

We decide to upgrade aour zabbix server from 1.1.4 to 1.4.2

We had some probems while updating the server (update of redhat realese, patch of the database) but now it works
The database is now 39GBytes before update it was 25GBytes of Mysql Innodb
When we used the frontend its very slow. The mysql process take sometimes more then 100% of cpu (in a top). Do we have to do a optimize database and if we have to do this how much it wille take ?

For its a database probleme but. it may be something else.

Thanks to all for your help

    same here.

after upgrading my working server, the apache2 process take 2-3 times more cpu then before.
a reload of my maps take 10 seconds .... with 1.1.6 it was 3 sec.

I am suprised to hear about worse performance with 1.4.x. May I ask you to enable log of slow queries (>3 sec) in MySQL configuration file and send the result to a l e x @ z a b b i x @ c o m. Thank you.

I suppose but i am not sure, there is a lot off querry to check permissions.
If you have a map link to a sub map the number of query is near 3000 .
            Maybe its the probleme.

I have try to replace the perm.inc.php by a new whichchange the permission check. Like :
                Code:
                SELECT hostid FROM hosts
Some function become unfunctional like triggers et latest data, but map refrese very quickly

for me its the permisson system who slow down the gui

                      Hi there,

                      Hi there,

I have the same problems here with 99.9% load after upgrade to 1.4.2.

Maby it is the SNMP check, do you both use SMNP on your server?

After you upgraded Zabbix did you executed the upgrades/dbpatches/ ?? for your sql ?

And after you done that, then start your zabbix.

should solve the problem with 99% cpu

I think it may be related to an inefficient SQL query in History of Events page which basically performs full scan of the table events. It was already fixed.

                            Here is the patch:

                            Code:
                            Index: frontends/php/include/events.inc.php

Thank you Alexei to take a look at our porbleme, I apply the patch but nothing change.

If I unterstand the new right system, for each item, trigger, graph item,... you check if the connected user is allow to see it maybee its this sytem that slow down zabbix front end.
