    Zabbix 1.4.2 Support snmpv3?

Does Zabbix 1.4.2 support snmpv3 by default, if not how make it. I suppose if i can make some changes in DB level, all the built in templates supports snmpv3

    Thanks

zabbix supports snmpv3, at least you can add such items - though i haven't tried using them myself.
obviously, zabbix must be compiled with snmp support (for example, net-snmp).

What i mean to ask is the following...
By default there are many templates available in Zabbix. I suppose those are not for snmpv3. How do we converts those to snmpv3 through sql query.

      Thanks for the understanding.

you can't just "convert" templates. well, it might be possible in some cases, but usually you will end with some information missing.
additionally, you will in most cases need particular mibs - and quite often you will need a specifically tailored template for your device.
additionally, i don't think it is a good idea to have all of the mib items that you are not using.

i would suggest creating the needed templates by yourself - look at supplied as a guide, but check the devices with snmpwalk and only create items you really are interested in.

I have done an snmp walk and found that the nsmp v3 is configured on my box which i need to monitor, however the when i configure it through the zabbix it throwing me the error "snmp error[1]".

I am sure that there is no firewall blocking snmp traffic between my box and the zabbix server. And also am able to monitor the hostname, contact info, etc through snmpv2, However i wanted to use snmpv3 for monitoring..

Can anyone advice me, your prompt to reply is very much appreciated.

          Thanks

However snmpv3 is configured on my box

I am able to do an snmpwalk from another server to monitoring box, for the OID which i have added that too through snmpv3

              Please help!

do you have snmp support compiled in ?
                  if yes, which one ?
can you add snmpv2 or v1 items and monitor them ?
